Setting-Up the iMac is easy - just follow these simple steps:
- Run the Internet Setup Assistant
- Name the Configuration and set the
Connection Type
- Pick your Modem Settings
- Enter some PPP Configuration options
- Enter your Email and News Information
- Dial-Up the Internet!

The Internet Folder
Notice that Internet Explorer, Netscape and Outlook Express are all
located in the Internet Folder. MidAmerica Net customers may use any of these products to access the World Wide Web and Email services. |

The first window explains the process of setting-up your Internet access. Click the right arrow to proceed... |

Configuration Name and
Connection Type
Name the configuration "MidAmerica Net" and verify that the Modem is selected as
"How you will be connecting to the Internet." Click the right arrow when done... |

Choosing Your Modem
The type of modem you choose here will vary depending upon what type of Mac you have.
Choose the modem that is configured on your Mac along with the pulse or tone setting
appropriate for your area (most towns in southern illinois use tone dialing). Click the right arrow to

Disabling PPP Scripting
MidAmerica Net does not require a script to make a PPP connection. Select no for this option to
disable the PPP Connection Script. Click the right arrow to continue... |

Setting the DNS Manually
Enter 63.85.209.10 and 63.85.209.11
for your DNS addresses - then enter surfmore.net for your Domain
Name. Click the right arrow to go to the next step... |

Entering your
Email Account Information
Enter your email address in the space provided. For example, if your loginname is
bjohnson, your email address will be
bjohnson@surfmore.net,
etc. Enter your password on the space provided to avoid being prompted for it each time
you check your email. Click the right arrow to continue... |

Other Email Settings
Enter your login name as the POP account - do not enter your email address as indicated
in the example. Enter surfmore.net for the SMTP host in the
space provided. Click next to move on... |

Entering the Internet News Server
Enter the name of Surfmore's Internet News server, news.surfmore.net,
into the box provided. Click the right arrow to continue... |

Web Proxy Setup
Unless you are using a local area network (LAN) and your network administrator requires
this setting, answer No to
this option. Click the right arrow to move on... |

Finishing the Installation
That is it! Your system is now properly configured to use Surfmore.net for dial-up Internet
access. |
