~Grasshopper, I Think Not!~
~Pat Couchman~I thought you were a grasshopper I heard him say to meTo read more of Pat's poems or for a
I wondered to myself who would speak like this to me
Then I remembered the promises of God to possess the land
And realized it was the enemy thinking I wouldn't stand. He tried to get me to go away, he tried to push me down
He came at me in every direction; he tried to destroy my solid ground
There were days it looked like he had the best of me and tears I would cry
Until My Jesus came my way and lifted my feet on High.He reminded me that I am no grasshopper but a child of His Kingdom
And He reminded me that what He has promised in my life would be done
So I stand today and say to you enemy of my soul, you have lost the fight
Jesus has given the land to me, He will destroy you and put you to flight.I am not a grasshopper nor am I any longer afraid of you
Through Christ I am a possessor of the land in all that I do
So get out of my way with your threats and mockery to My God's Word
For the Lord will thunder from heaven, his warring angels will be heard. For He is about to shout from heaven and bring me into the land
Where you will be the grasshopper and on you My God will stand.
