My Testimony

The joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10

I accepted Christ as my Savior when I was very young, but did not commit my life to Him until I was in my middle to late twenties. My oldest child was only two and a half years old when my third baby was born. When he was a week old my forty three year old mom had surgery and the family was told that she had cancer and six months would be a long life---she lived three. This was the saddest time of my life.

God got me through this, even though I wasn't living close enough to Him to appreciate it. One day, several months after my precious mom's death, I picked up my Bible and thought to myself, "I believe I will start reading every day as I did when I was at home with my parents". As I began to read, God's convicting power wouldn't let go until I totally committed my life to Him. I have never been sorry. He is my Strength and has been right here with me in the best of times and the not so best of times. I love Him with all of my heart.

Please read the poem below as it expresses so well what God means to me.

Who, What, When, Where and How?

Who is this inside me that doesn't ever let me give up?
Who's voice do I hear speaking when I'm feeling so unloved?
Who is it that takes the pain and hurt away?
Who is it that desires me to look to Him each and every day?

What is this grace that abounds deep within my heart?
What is this hope that rises in me and never seems to part?
What is this faith that helps me always to trust?

When I am sad, who is it that comforts me?
When I am lonely who is right here with me?
When I think I can't go on, who shows me the way?
When I wake up each morning, who gets me through the day?

Where do I go when there is nowhere to run?
Where do I hide when life just isn't fun?
Where can I find help when no one else is around?
Where does the strength come from to stand on solid ground?

How can He possibly love someone like me?
How can He forgive and wipe all my sins away?
How can I ever thank Him for giving me His love?
How can I ever be the same, after being touched from above?

The answers to these questions are not so hard to find
For there is only one who could possibly be so kind.
His name is JESUS and He died for you and me.
Thank you Lord that you are the answer to all the questions we ask.
Thank you Lord that we know for you this is not a major task
Thank you Lord that it is your sacrifice that answers all--- and
Thank You Lord for allowing all who hear your voice to answer your call.
